We know how important it is for companies to develop their staff into the best and most talented individuals they can be. At asos this is not just desirable but vital - our business is growing so rapidly that to maintain our high levels of quality and achievement, we need to ensure our people grow at the same fast rate.

As well as benefiting the company, our people gain personally from development schemes carefully tailored to their specific needs, which allow them to progress and make the most of their abilities.

Induction

We will ensure that when you start work with us you will receive a proper welcome and induction that will make you feel like part of a team, and part of the company, from day one.

On your first day at asos, you will receive all the essential information you need to settle into your role as smoothly as possible. You will hear about the history of asos, discover what our current priorities and challenges are, learn important IT and Health and Safety rules, and be taken on a tour of the business.

Talent Management

Our Talent Management programme allows us to actively develop internal talent. Not only does this allow our business to maintain rapid growth, but it also lets us develop and reward talent from within the company.

Our classification system enables you and your manager to identify your strong points and growth areas, to allow you to achieve the most in your asos career...
  • Star Performer - Outstanding and ready for a bigger role
  • Emerging Star - Shows signs of potential for a bigger role with development/expertise –consider for a lateral move
  • Solid Performer - Reliable, steady, delivers what is expected, some areas of development.

Leadership and Management Programme

To help us reach our goals as an organisation, we need to have strong leaders and managers who are well equipped to deal with the challenges ahead.

With the business moving at an ever increasing pace, and the need to face change, ambiguity and uncertainty head on, it's vital for managers and leaders to have the skills and confidence to meet these challenges.

To achieve this we support all our managers in developing a personal style that gets the most out of their team and achieves the aims of the company.

The Learning and Development Experience

We want to ensure that your development plan is perfectly suited to your learning style. This will be achieved through conversations with your Line Manager, with support from the Training and Development Manager.

A key part of all learning opportunities will be the chance to consider what you have learnt and how it can be directly applied to your day-to-day role in the company.

Among the learning opportunities that could be made available to you are coaching, mentoring, shadowing, training courses, team building and professional development.
